Disteareth-2 Lauroyl Glutamate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.

Di steareth-2 Lauroyl Glutamate is a unique ingredient combining a stearyl alcohol ether (2 EO) with a glutamate amino acid group and lauroyl fatty acid. The amino acid-derived structure provides superior skin compatibility compared to conventional PEG esters. EU Regulation 1223/2009 lists this as a permitted cosmetic ingredient with no restrictions in Annex II or III. The glutamate moiety may support skin barrier function.

Skin benefits

  • Exceptional skin compatibility due to amino acid structure
  • Effective emulsifier for stable O/W emulsions
  • May support skin barrier function via glutamate content
  • Suitable for sensitive skin and baby care formulations

Known concerns

  • No significant concerns; one of the milder emulsifiers available
  • Standard manufacturing quality control applies
