Nonanal (pelargonaldehyde, aldehyde C-9, CAS 124-19-6) is a saturated nine-carbon aldehyde widely used in perfumery and as FEMA GRAS flavor (FEMA 2782). Naturally occurring in rose, citrus, and many other essential oils. Pure material carries mild GHS skin/eye irritation labels; cosmetic use is at trace levels with a robust RIFM/IFRA safety record. Not on EU Annex II.
