Ditrimethylolprop ane tetrastearate is a tetraester formed from ditrimethylolpropane (a hexa-functional polyol) and four stearic acid units. It functions as a non-volatile structurant and emollient in lipsticks, balms, and color cosmetics, providing waxy body and a soft after-feel. Pentaerythrityl- and ditrimethylolpropane-class polyol esters have CIR review supporting cosmetic safety. No CMR, endocrine, or significant GHS hazards; non-comedogenic at use levels (1-15%).
