A short human-identical elastin-derived peptide that supports skin elasticity and conditioning through a simple glycine-proline-valine sequence.
SH-Pentapeptide-2 is a synthetically produced five-amino-acid human-identical peptide identical to a portion of human elastin, containing only glycine, proline, and valine. Such short, human-sequence peptides are among the safest cosmetic ingredients, with extensive use history and no EU restrictions in Annexes II through VI of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Elastin-derived fragments at this size do not pose immunogenic risks and are well tolerated on skin.
