Nonadecane (CAS 629-92-5) is a saturated straight-chain C19 alkane. In cosmetics and fragrance applications it serves as an inert diluent or carrier hydrocarbon with no notable biological activity. Purification grade determines impurity load (PAHs in mineral-sourced alkanes are the usual concern). Not listed on EU Annex II. Readily biodegradable under aerobic conditions.
