Safety score · 0–100
Moderate
Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A shorter PEG-12 version of the epoxidized rapeseedate polymer, used as an emulsifier with slightly better safety profile than longer-chain versions.
Bis-(Methyl Epoxidized Rapeseedate) PEG-12 shares the same generic CAS number (2767294-14-2) as its higher molecular weight analogues but has a shorter PEG chain. The shorter PEG chain (12 vs 32 or 20) reduces some penetration concerns while the epoxidized rapeseedate moiety remains a sensitization consideration. It scores slightly higher than the PEG-32 version on safety due to lower systemic absorption potential.
